A Quincy woman was reportedly beaten early Wednesday in the 800 block of North 12th, and Quincy police arrested a Hull man on several charges in connection with the incident.

Police reported that Clinton M. Ames, 32, of 145 N. Locust in Hull, was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated battery, domestic battery and resisting a peace officer. He was lodged in the Adams County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.

Police said the Adams County 911 Center received multiple calls about 12:30 a.m. from residents on North 12th that a man was beating a woman in the parking lot of 801 N. 12th. When officers arrived, they found a Quincy woman suffering from several injuries to her head and face and a man who had an injury to his hand.

Both declined medical treatment, police said.
