Members of the Quincy Police Department are investigating a bank robbery at First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust, 3233 Broadway.
Officers were called to the scene just after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Police were searching for a man on foot who took money after displaying a note, but not a weapon, at the bank.
A police dispatcher said officers are looking for a black man who is described 6-feet tall with a slender build. He is wearing black glasses, black knit gloves, a red sweatshirt and gray pants with a stripe down the side.
According to scanner traffic, the suspect ran down the frontage road in front of the Quincy Mall. He was last spotted in the alleyway between Starbucks and Petco. Police searched the old County Market building after a worker reported a sound, but the building was later cleared.
