Three-year-old Kahoka boy killed in Clark County crash

WAYLAND, Mo. — A 3-year-old Kahoka boy was killed when the car he was a passenger in overturned Monday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2003 Ford Focus driven by Lora K. Jacobson, 31, of Kahoka, was heading east on U.S. 136, three miles west of Wayland, when the car ran off the road, struck a tree, overturned and came to rest on its wheels in a ditch.

Sawyer E. Jacobson was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner Edwin Wilson. He was secured in a forward facing child safety seat, police said.

Lora K. Jacobson and Lance N. Jacobson, 1, were transported by Clark County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

Assisting were the Clark County Sheriff's Department and the Wayland Fire Department.
