New Year's means that we all get to start the new year fresh with resolutions to improve our lives to some extent.

Some make this annual pledge with strong convictions to follow through while others dismiss it entirely.

Regardless of which category you fit, you'll want to take advantage of the educational opportunities to improve your management and care of growing and managing your food for this year.

And if you've never grown a garden or raised chickens/eggs, perhaps now is the time to consider your options for improving the health and diet of your family. Yes it's a commitment that requires your follow-through, but there's not a better time than now to take that plunge.

University of Illinois Extension can help you to achieve those goals, with help and advice along the way, beginning with these educational opportunities this winter.

We'll start off with our winter webinar series, which will be held on Thursdays, beginning Jan. 10 and continue through March 28.

Topics range from turkey production to seed saving to financial management to strawberry production to beneficial insects. There are 12 sessions total, and you can select any or all to attend.

They're webinars, so you can enjoy them from your home, or if it's handier, you can stop by our office as we're hosting them as well.

This is just one of the many programs we've got planned to help you in your growing efforts.
