The Unity girls basketball team remained the only unbeaten team in its pool at the Central Lady Panther Classic, pounding Monmouth-Roseville 57-35 Tuesday night.
The Lady Mustangs (17-4) are 3-0 in pool play and can wrap up a spot in the tournament's championship game by beating Liberty-Payson on Thursday.
Breanne Begeman scored 10 of her game-high 19 points in the first half as Unity built a 15-point halftime edge.
Brooklyn Moore added 15 points for the Lady Mustangs.
West Central 52, Pittsfield 32: Allyssa Heavner scored all four of Pittsfield's first-quarter points and the Lady Saukees never recovered from the slow start in the North Greene Tournament.
Heavner led Pittsfield with 12 points.
Louisiana 57, South Shelby 50: Morgan Murry and Caitlin Bolton combined to make 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Bulldogs open Clarence Cannon Conference play with a home win over the Lady Birds.
Louisiana coach Craig Pedersen said the Lady Bulldogs modified their defense to stop South Shelby's Cassidy Johnston, who scored 14 of her game-high 21 points in the first half.
"We didn't let her see the ball in the second half," Pedersen said. "We switched to the 1-2-2 and double-teamed her when she got the ball."
Louisiana (6-5, 1-0 CCC) trailed 44-41 after three quarters but took the lead for good two minutes into the fourth quarter. Batrice Blackwell scored 15 points and Bolton added 12 for the Lady Bulldogs. Aimee Ellyson scored 11 for the Lady Birds (7-7, 0-1).
Palmyra 54, Hannibal 33: Three Lady Panthers -- Megan Hooper (14 points), Alexi Losson (10) and Allie Dietrich (10)-- scored in double figures to lead Palmyra to the victory at home.
Palmyra (9-4) jumped out to a 19-4 first-quarter lead and never trailed. Lauren Holliday led Hannibal with seven points.
Macon 39, Monroe City 37: Despite leading by three points going into the fourth quarter, the Lady Panthers were unable to hold on in the Clarence Cannon Conference opener.
Leah Albus finished with 15 points for Monroe City (11-2), while Olivia Crager added 11 points.
Centralia 48, Mark Twain 24: The Lady Tigers committed 29 turnovers in falling on the road. Kenzie Grossmann finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 blocks for Mark Twain.
Marion County 49, Knox County 46: Devan Johnson hit 3 of 4 free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Mustangs cling to their lead.
Kaelyn Spratt led Marion County (8-2) with 18 points, while Johnson added 13. Amy Gudehus led Knox County (6-5) with 10 points.
Schuyler County 56, North Shelby 47: Ashton Reitz and Brianna Cochenour led the Lady Raiders with 11 points each and Elizabeth Linberger added 10, but North Shelby (6-6) fell on the road.
