The Friends of Alan participate in a candle lighting ceremony Friday at Alan Madden's gravesite in Graceland Cemetery in Quincy. The group planned to have candles burning all night at the gravesite. Friday marked the 32nd anniversary of the discovery of little Alan Madden's death on Jan. 11, 1981.
The 5-year-old boy's mother and her boyfriend were convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the beating death, which created emotional waves across the Quincy community.
