Ice-covered driveway blamed in accident

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- An ice-covered driveway is being blamed in a two-vehicle accident at 7:50 a.m. Sunday at U.S. 36 Outer Road, one-half mile west of Hannibal.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford pickup driven by Nicholis W. Tischer, 25, of Hannibal, was backing down a private driveway and was unable to stop and slid into an eastbound 1998 Oldsmobile driven by Carol A. Wyrick, 57, of Boonville.

Tischer was taken by auto to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
