Pastor who wrote letter missed God's plan for marriage

To The Herald-Whig:

I am writing in response to a letter by the Rev. Ron Fritts (Jan. 7) urging support of the Illinois Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act, in which he states "marriage is not defined by gender or sexual orientation but by love and commitment."

My question to him then is ... if marriage is based on "feelings" why didn't God just make two men or two women in the first place? Why bother with a complementary couple of a "man and woman" for procreation?

It seems to me that the Rev. Fritts does not expect his church to be around a couple generations from now. How sad.
