A water main broke at Third and Oak about 4 a.m. Friday, prompting the interruption of service to some customers for an estimated 5 to 7 hours.

The affected area is on Third Street from Elm to Oak and on College Avenue from Second to Fourth Street.

Once service is restored, customers in these areas are advised to follow a 48-hour boil order.
