Belynda Kay Beswick and Gregory William Bernzen, both of 1718 S. Granview, have announced their engagement. They will be married in July in Quincy University Chapel.

The bride-elect is a daughter of Jimmie and Kathy Beswick of 3633 Briarwood Drive. She is a 1999 graduate of Quincy High School, a 2004 graduate of Western Illinois University in Macomb with a bachelor of science degree in education, and a 2011 graduate of William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., with a master's degree in education. Miss Beswick is a first-grade teacher at Seymour Elementary School in Payson.

The prospective bridegroom is a son of William and Nancy Bernzen of 1700 Kent Ave. He is a 2001 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School and a 2007 graduate of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Mr. Bernzen is part owner of Bernzen Lumber.

It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
