Gretchen Leigh Shewmaker and Jeffry Lewis "Jeff" Orebaugh, both of Springfield, were united in marriage Sept. 15 in Elliott Avenue Baptist Church in Springfield.
The bride is a daughter of Kenny and Christi Shewmaker of 2825 Centennial Drive. The bridegroom is a son of Gail and Lucy Orebaugh of 3418 Chestnut and Debbie Orebaugh of 1510 Maple.
The 3 p.m. ceremony was conducted by Jason Orebaugh of Yates Center, Kan., brother of the bridegroom; the bride was given in marriage by her parents. Music was provided by the Debbie Eddy Flute Choir from Springfield. Readers were Caroline Coleman of San Francisco and Peggy Maggart of Quincy.
Matron of honor was Lindsey Murphy of Lake in the Hills. Bridesmaids were Laura Kirchner of Charleston, Cheryl Potter of Taylorville, Miranda Antenan of Springfield and the bridegroom's daughter, Madison Orebaugh of Lincoln.
Best man was Nick Niewohner of Quincy. Groomsmen were Kevin Reppy of St. Louis, Chris Kite of Decatur, Kyle Berry of Alton and Justin Orebaugh of Quincy, brother of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Chad Coleman of New York and Jeremy Coleman of Wichita, Kan., cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Emma Murphy, niece of the bride, and ring bearer was Logan Orebaugh of Yates Center, nephew of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom's mother, Debbie Orebaugh, hosted a rehearsal dinner in Amber Jack's Ale House in Springfield. A reception began at 6 p.m. at Camelot in Springfield.
After honeymooning in the Dominican Republic, the newlyweds are at home in Springfield.
The bride was in the flute choir in high school and is a graduate of Lincoln Land Community College. She is a bakery manager at County Market in Chatham.
The bridegroom graduated from Lincoln College in Lincoln, where he was a resident assistant and participated in wrestling. He is a waiter at Bella Milano in Springfield.
