JWCC men lose MWAC opener at Danville

DANVILLE, Ill. -- The John Wood Community College men's basketball team dropped a MidWest Athletic Conference decision 53-45 to Danville Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Blazers fell to 12-6 overall and 0-1 in the MWAC. No. 11 Danville, meanwhile, improved to 15-3 and 1-0.

Danville's lead was never threatened, with the Jaguars taking a 26-23 lead at halftime.

Danville held JWCC to 36 percent shooting from the field (18 of 49) and 0 of 13 from the 3-point arc. The Jaguars also forced the Blazers into 22 turnovers.
