College basketball preview: Illinois-Springfield at QU women

Illinois-Springfield (4-10, 1-5) at Quincy women (7-7, 5-1)

Scouting the Prairie Stars: UIS lost 76-63 at Missouri S&T on Saturday, which extended the Prairie Stars' losing streak to five. Carly Goede, a 5-foot-7 sophomore guard, had 14 points to lead UIS in the loss.

Megan Bergerud, a 5-11 junior guard, leads UIS in scoring at 11.9 points per game. She's the only UIS player averaging double figures in scoring. Elizabeth Kelly, a 6-1 junior forward, averages a team-best 6.9 rebounds per game along with 7.3 points per game. UIS has found itself in mostly low-scoring games. The Prairie Stars average 57 points per game and are surrendering 60.5 points per game.

Winning with defense: Defense has been the common theme to Quincy's seven wins this season. The Lady Hawks limited Drury to 39.6 percent shooting in a 68-62 win on Saturday. QU is 7-0 this season when limiting opponents to less than 40 percent shooting.

The series: Quincy leads the all-time series 12-1.
