LaBelle driver injured in one-car accident

NEWARK, Mo. -- A 17-year-old LaBelle driver is in stable condition Thursday in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., with injuries sustained in a one-car accident at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday on Mo. 156, two miles east of Newark.

Micah P. Lotz was taken by Air Evac to the Quincy hospital.

Lotz was driving a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer west on Mo. 156 when it traveled off the highway, struck two road signs then a bridge railing before coming to rest on the bridge facing east, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Also assisting were the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, LaBelle and Ewing First Responders and the Lewis County Ambulance.
