CARROLLTON, Ill. -- The Quincy Notre Dame girls basketball team is back in familiar surroundings.

The Lady Raiders will play for their sixth straight Carrollton Tournament championship after beating Winchester West Central 82-27 in the semifinals Thursday.

QND (17-0), winners of seven of the last eight titles at Carrollton, will play No. 3 Bethalto Civic Memorial in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The Eagles beat second-seeded Pana 59-42 in the other semifinal.

West Central led QND 9-6 three minutes into the game before the Lady Raiders closed out the first half with a 51-12 run.

A key adjustment paid for QND.

"We made a defensive adjustment in our half court," Lady Raiders coach Eric Orne said. "We started to get some steals which swung the momentum our way."

When the Cougars got the ball across halfcourt, they had trouble scoring. They started out the second quarter shooting 1 for 10 from the floor.

Four QND players scored in double figures. Kassidy Gengenbacher led the way with a game-high 17 points and Mary Beth Hugenberg scored a career-high 16 points to go with six rebounds. Jordan Frericks finished with 15 points and seven rebounds and Quenna Keating added 10 points.
