Quincy Police

Thefts, burglaries

Cash totaling $695.10 was taken from the Quincy Country Club office about 2:42 p.m. Jan. 1.

Wallet was taken from a coat pocket at a residence in the 600 block of North Eighth between Jan. 4-5.

Wallet containing cash and gift card was taken at Long John Silvers while an employees was working on Jan. 4.

A residence in the 1700 block of Maple was entered at 7:43 p.m. Dec. 30. However, nothing appeared to be missing.

Quincy man reported two unauthorized charges were entered on his PayPal debit card on Jan. 10.

Items were taken from a vehicle parked at a residence on Cadbury Ridge at 1 a.m. Jan. 16.

Cash totaling $200 was taken from a residence in the 900 block of Kentucky on Jan. 5.

A 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck with white cab and gray utility bed was taken from the 1100 block of North 12th between Jan. 17-18. The Illinois license number is 1184794B.

Bookbag was taken from a vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Oak between Jan. 12-13. Entry was gained by breaking a window with a hammer. The hammer was left in the car and taken into evidence by police.

Two trucks of Quincy Public School District at 210 S. Seventh were entered and numerous tools taken between Jan. 14-15.

Two table saws were taken from an unlocked porch of a residence in the 1400 block of North Eighth between Jan. 6-10.

Several items were taken from a residence in the 600 block of Oak on Jan. 13. Most of the items have been recovered. Police continue to investigate the incident.

A rural Quincy woman had her purse taken from the chapel of Francis all at Quincy University on Jan. 13.

A Quincy man dropped his wallet at County Market Express, Sixth and Broadway. When the wallet was returned $51 was missing. Police gave no further information.

Resident of the Illinois Veterans Home reported $300 was taken from his room on Jan. 9.

Red and silver Schwinn Sierra bicycle was taken from the front of 225 S. Fourth on Jan. 17.

Front driver's side window of a 2010 GMC Sierra pickup truck was shattered by an unknown means while it was parked at the rear of a residence in the 700 block of South 12th between Jan. 12-13.



Sugar maple tree was struck and damaged in the easement area of a residence in the 2200 block of College between Dec. 29-30.

A vehicle was damaged while it was parked at a residence on Pawn Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 6Front door glass at Midwest Block and Brick, 600 State, was broken with a BB or pellet on Jan. 14.

Window at Bank of America 329 N. 24th was shattered between Jan. 12-15.

A Quincy woman's car window was broken by a BB while parked at Third and Maine at 9:07 p.m. Jan. 19.


Counterfeit money

A counterfeit $10 bill was found among a deposit in First Bankers Trust from a local business on Jan. 12.
