The engagement of Amanda Schmidt of Clayton and Brad Genenbacher of Golden has been announced by their parents. She is a daughter of Maurice and Clara Schmidt of Clayton. He is a son of Ted and Sarah Genenbacher of Fowler.

The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Central High School in Camp Point and will graduate from Black Hawk College in August with a degree to be a physical therapist assistant. Miss Schmidt is a physical therapist technician at Advance Physical Therapy in Quincy.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2009 graduate of Quincy High School. Mr. Genenbacher is a landscaper for Frese Ornamental Nursery.

An April 6 wedding is planned in St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camp Point.
