Scouting the Cardinals: WJC beat Illinois-Springfield 69-54 on Thursday to snap its two-game losing streak.

The Cardinals were 4-1 through five games. Senior forward Holly Switzer was averaging 13.2 points per game during that start, but those are the only games she's played in. The Liberty (Mo.) Tribune reported earlier this month that Switzer had been dismissed from the team.

Among players still on the roster, Katlyn Wood, a 6-foot senior forward, leads WJC in scoring (11.1 points per game) and rebounding (6.1 per game). Chelsea Meeks, a 5-5 junior guard, is adding 9.4 points and a team-best four assists per game.

Hot at home: The Lady Hawks improved to 6-3 at Pepsi Arena this season with Thursday's 67-55 win over William Jewell. Since the start of the 2007-08 season, QU is 74-8 at home, good for a winning percentage of 90.2 percent.

The series: Quincy leads the all-time series 2-0.
