Lewistown, Mo., man arrested in assault case

TOLONA, Mo. -- A Lewistown man is in jail on an assault charge stemming from a Sunday incident in which a male sustained serious injuries to his head and face in an altercation outside a Tolona bar.

The victim remained hospitalized at midday Tuesday.

A male was hit in the head and face Sunday outside the Hard Tellin Bar in Tolona, according Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish. Both men had been patrons of the bar prior to the incident, according to police.

Jerran R. Geisendorfer, 35, of Lewistown, was arrested on an assault in the second degree charge, a Class C felony. He remained lodged in the Lewis County Jail Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 cash-only bond. Geisendorfer's next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 6.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted.
