Scouting the Phoenix: North Lawndale has held its own in the Chicago Public League Red West Division, sitting in fourth place behind Whitney Young, Farragut and Orr. The Phoenix are led on offense by 6-foot-5 junior guard Keith Mack and 6-1 sophomore guard Fred Sims. Damontre Enos, a 6-1 sophomore, along with 6-foot freshman Wendell Anderson will be counted on to contribute for North Lawndale.

Holiday tournaments: The Raiders and Phoenix both competed at the State Farm Holiday Classic. QND was runner-up in the small school bracket, while North Lawndale finished fourth after losing to Peoria Notre Dame in the third-place game in the big-school bracket.

Ice cold: To win, the Raiders will need a better shooting performance than they got last week in their loss to West Hancock. QND made 12 of 43 field-goal attempts.
