Illinois State Police cite 28 during Quincy safety check

Illinois State Police issued 28 citations and eight warnings in Quincy during a recent roadside safety check.

Two drivers were given driving under the influence citations during the check, which was conducted Jan. 30-31, and three other arrests involved other alcohol or drug violations. In addition, seven drivers were cited on drivers license offences, and seven passengers were cited on restraint offenses. Others were charged with registration offenses.

State Police District 20 officers conducted the safety check under a program funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety.
