Payson woman faces theft by deception charge

PAYSON, Ill. — A 37-year-old Payson woman has been arrested in connection with fraudulent use of an elderly man's credit card.

A four-month investigation led to a Tuesday afternoon arrest by the Adams County Sheriff's Department.

Sarah A. Rogers, of 307 W. Edwards, in Payson was arrested on a charge of theft over $500 by deception, a Class 3 felony, and receipt of goods or services of more than $150, a Class 4 felony.

She was lodged in the Adams County Jail. Rogers posted 10 percent of a $3,500 bond on Wednesday. She is scheduled to be in court again Friday.
