MILTON, Ill. -- A second arrest has been made in connection with the drug-incuded death of a Milton woman last year.

Members of the Pike County Sheriff's Department arrested Chad Woolridge, 26, of Pearl, after a warrant was issued for his arrest. According to Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty, Woolridge was at the residence of Shanda M. Lopez, 47, of Milton on Sept. 26 when she died.

Woolridge was charged with felony obstruction of justice. He is being lodged in the Pike County Jail. His bond has been set at $30,000.

Authorities say they believe Lopez died as a result of opiate intoxication. Investigators believe that Lopez ingested heroin in the late evening hours the night before her death, and that John. R. Edgar supplied the heroin to Lopez.

Edgar, 25, of Pearl, was arrested Oct. 31 and charged with drug-induced homicide. Edgar has been lodged in the Pike County Jail since his arrest. His bond was originally set at $200,000 but was reduced to $100,000 on Nov. 20. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and waived a preliminary hearing on Dec. 4.

Edgar is scheduled to be in court again on Monday.
