Scouting the Eagles: Liberty comes in Saturday's game on a high note, rebounding from a loss to West Hancock Tuesday with a 58-48 win over Knox County on Friday night. The Eagles are led by 6-foot junior Michael Blewett, who leads the team in scoring (14.6 points per game), assists (2.7) and steals (1.41). 6-foot-4 sophomore forward Michael Mast and 6-4 senior forward Isaac Murfin both average 10 points per game. Liberty normally starts Blewett, 5-11 senior guard Tyler Ormond, 6-foot junior guard Connor Wolf, Murfin and 6-3 senior forward Kody Leapley. Mast provides scoring and energy off the bench.
"We're still looking to find our strength," Eagles coach Andy Douglas said. "Our guys are unselfish offensively, and defensively we're coming together. I think we have a bunch of guys together that have the same goals and can accomplish a lot."
Holding on: The Raiders lost a 12-point first-half lead in their 58-55 loss to Sacred Heart-Griffin Tuesday. It was the second time this QND lost to No. 8 state-ranked Peoria Manual 64-59 Jan. 19 after holding a 14-point lead in the first half.
Last meeting: Alex Fitch scored 19 points, while Evan Klene added 10 to lead QND to a 55-39 win at The Pit.
