Scouting the Hawks: Kara McFarland made a pair of free throws with five seconds remaining to seal Rockhurst's 42-39 win over Illinois-Springfield on Thursday. Rockhurst shot only 30 percent from the field in a 67-55 loss at Quincy on Jan. 24.

McFarland, a 5-foot-10 senior forward, leads Rockhurst in scoring at 9.1 points per game and rebounding at 5.8 per game. Kendall Hart, a 5-9 freshman guard, is supplying 8.9 points per game. Rockhurst ranks 14th in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in scoring (58 ppg), 15th in field-goal percentage (37.4) and 15th in 3-point percentage (29.9 percent).

Injury update: QU freshman reserve center Erin Mennemeyer played just one minute of the Lady Hawks' 68-59 win over William Jewell on Thursday. She left with an injury to her right knee, and she is not expected to play Saturday. Early indications are Mennemeyer sprained her knee, but she will be re-evaluated once returning to Quincy. QU generally uses just an eight-player rotation, with Mennemeyer being the bench option to play the low post. She averages 3.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

The series: Quincy leads the all-time series 16-2.
