CANTON, Mo. -- Culver-Stockton College's student financial services office is hosting a series of FAFSA assistance nights throughout the months of February and March.

The first event is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Elsberry High School computer lab.

Other events are planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 20 and March 7 at the Highland High School computer room; 5 to 7 p.m. March 5 in the Canton High School library; and 4 to 7 p.m. March 14 in the Herrick Foundation Center, Room 208, on the C-SC campus.

The goal of these events is to help students correctly fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used to determine how much financial assistance a student might receive at the college of his or her choice.

All of the events are free to the public.

Those attending are encouraged to apply for a federal personal identification number prior to the event. This can be done at Parents and students need their own PIN to complete the application.

Other necessary documents needed to complete the FAFSA include: all 2012 tax forms and W2s for parents and student; current balances of cash, savings and checking accounts; and net worth of investments for both the student and parent.

Those planning to attend are encouraged, but not required, to RSVP by calling (573) 288-6307 or sending an email to

Silver Saukees: Pittsfield's state title team to reunite after 25 years
Tony Baker recently watched a video of the 1991 Class A state championship game with his 11-year-old daughter. It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
