The engagement of Angela Barry and Benjamin Thompson has been announced by their parents. She is a daughter of David and Kay Barry of Liberty. He is a son of Kent and Paula Hawley of Pittsfield and Steve and Becky Thompson of Show Low, Ariz.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Liberty High School, a 2012 graduate of Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo., with a bachelor of science degree in athletic training, and will graduate in May 2014 from Quincy University with a master's degree. Miss Barry is a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Quincy University.

The prospective bridegroom, of Quincy, is a 2007 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 2011 graduate of Culver-Stockton College and Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. He is a registered nurse/nurse circulator in general surgery and open heart room at Blessing Hospital.

A June 22 wedding is planned in St. Francis Catholic Church.
