A Quincy man is lodged in the Adams County Jail on suspicion of burglary in connection to an incident at 3:50 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of South 48th.

Police said Justin L. Kohl, 34, of 703 N. 16th, was arrested on a suspicion of burglary.

Police reported a resident told officers a man claiming to have car trouble forced his way into an attached garage and asked for help. While the resident was calling 911, the man fled on foot into a field southwest of the home.

A disabled vehicle was later found in the area, police said, and a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Kohl.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department and the Quincy Police Department were involved in the investigation.
