Sen. Kirk Dillard headline's Pike County Lincoln Day

PITTSFIELD, Ill. -- Sen. Kirk Dillard, a 2010 candidate for governor, will be the featured speaker at the Pike County Lincoln Day dinner Feb. 18.

Dillard the former chief of staff to Gov. Jim Edgar, has been a member of the Illinois Senate since 1994. He was one of seven Republicans running for the party's gubernatorial nomination in 2010. He placed second, with 193 fewer votes than primary winner Sen. Bill Brady.

The Republican from Hinsdale also was director of legislative affairs from former Gov. James Thompson and served for four years on the Illinois Court of Claims. He is a partner at Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP, one of Chicago's premiere law firms.

Sen. Sam McCann will be master of ceremonies at Lincoln Day and Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer, R-Jacksonville, will be a special guest.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. in the Crossroads Center at Pittsfield. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person or $100 for event sponsors.
