HEALTH NOTEBOOK: Hannibal Regional Healthcare System appoints vice president of human resources

Susan Wathen has joined the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System staff as vice president of human resources. Wathen has 10 years of experience as senior vice president of human resources at F&M Bank and Trust and is a certified senior professional in human resources. Susan is a native of Hannibal, Mo., and a graduate of Hannibal High School. She has served on the board of directors for the Hannibal Free Public Library, has been a member and former president of the Hannibal Early Bird Kiwanis Club and is a former president of the Quincy Area Chapter of Society for Human Resource Management.

C. Todd Ahrens, the chief executive officer for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, said Wathan will bring a wealth of experience to the organization. He also commended her for a strong commitment to the Hannibal community.

QMG donation

Quincy Medical Group Healthcare Foundation presented a $626 check to Quincy University Water Works. The donation came from funds raised by the health management resource program at QMG during a Hawks basketball game. Water Works is a therapeutic swim program designed for children with special needs. The program teaches agility, strength and mobility.

Partnership

Hannibal Regional Hospital's joint venture with Advance Physical Therapy is expected to provide outpatient physical and occupational therapy services for patients throughout the region.

Therapy professionals from both organizations will continue to serve the Canton, Hannibal, Monroe City and Bowling Green communities.

The partnership allows for continued recruitment and retention of therapists and support staff members as well as convenience for patients.
