Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, was the setting for the Jan. 19 wedding of Miss Heather Dawn Schmidt and Prabhjit Paul Singh, both of St. Charles, Mo.

The bride is a daughter of Frank and Cindy Schmidt of 2531 Cherry. The bridegroom is a son of Satnam and Nachter Singh of Amritsar, India.

Mr. Schmidt gave his daughter in marriage during the 6 p.m. ceremony; the Rev. Chuy officiated.

Matron of honor was Megan Brown of Quincy.

Best man was Jim Howe of Roodhouse.

A rehearsal dinner was held Jan. 18 in La Pergola restaurant at Marival Resort in Puerto Vallarta. A beach reception was held from 7 p.m. to midnight at Las Caletas.

The newlyweds are at home in St. Charles after honeymooning in Puerto Vallarta.

The bride graduated from Quincy High School in 2000 and from Hannibal-LaGrange College in 2003 with an associate of applied science degree. She is a registered respiratory therapist at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

The bridegroom graduated from Forest Park Community College in 1993 with an associate of applied science degree. He is a registered respiratory therapist at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

The bridal couple was honored with a couple's shower Sept. 15, hosted by the bride's aunts, Jennifer Rakers and Deb Baucom, and her mother.
