Hancock SWCD fish sale features 10 species

The first order deadline for the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District's spring fish sale is Friday for grass carp.

The second order deadline is Friday, March 15, for channel catfish, albino catfish, largemouth bass, fathead minnows, black crappie, hybrid sunfish, standard bluegill, hybrid redear and standard redear.

Fish will be delivered at 11 a.m. March 19 at the Soil and Water Conservation District office.

Most fish will be bagged in oxygenated water. Buyers should bring empty buckets for transporting fish and pond water. For more information, call 357-2180, ext. 3.

It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
