Youth Mass: A citywide youth Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1119 S. Seventh St. Officiating will be the Rev. Tom Hagstrom, pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church. The citywide youth Mass is held the first Sunday of every month. Music will be provided by Tyler Peters and others from the TEC and Cursillo family. Young people, adults and families are welcome to attend. Following Mass, the youth group SWAT, Servants With A Testimony, will meet at the Life Teen House on the northwest corner of Seventh and Adams. There will be a program and refreshments. Lenten Retreat: The Alliance of the Holy Family International will host a family Lenten retreat 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in the Holiday Inn, South County Center, 6921 Lindbergh Blvd., Saint Louis. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Admission is $15, with free admission for children under 15, religious and seminarians. Confession will be available, as will free babysitting for children age 5 and older. The day will conclude with 5:30 p.m. Mass. For more information, visit

The North Shelby community was rocked when four students were in a car crash on Sept. 24. North Shelby student Joshua Kennison was pronounced dead at the scene, while freshman football player Jakob Pratt died Oct. 11. The Raiders know it is a journey to move past the tragedy that struck their community over the last month, but they know they can do things to help the process.
