The engagement of Kristina Halpin and Adam Hicks, both of St. Louis, has been announced by her parents, Craig and Julie Halpin of O'Fallon. Mr. Hicks is a son of Jim and Julie Hicks, also of O'Fallon.

The bride-elect is a granddaughter of Bette Awerkamp and the late Tom Awerkamp, and Dale and Irene Halpin of Quincy. She is a 2008 graduate of O'Fallon Township High School and a 2012 graduate of Southeast Missouri University with a bachelor of science degree in math education. Miss Halpin is a math teacher in St. Louis.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2008 graduate of O'Fallon Township High School and graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2011 and earned a master's degree in accounting in December 2012. He is an accountant in St. Louis.

A June 29 wedding is planned in St. Clare Catholic Church in O'Fallon.
