Norman and Sally Haerr of Taylor, Mo., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 to 4 p.m. March 24 in the Taylor Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 100 County Road 313, in Taylor. The event will be hosted by their children. Family and friends are invited.
Mr. Haerr and the former Sally Wysong were married March 24, 1963, in the Apostolic Christian Church in Sabetha, Kan.
Mrs. Haerr is a daughter of the late Chancey and Evelyn Wysong. Mr. Haerr is a son of the late Rudy and Lena Haerr.
They are the parents of Shon and Peggy Haerr, Scott and Dawn Wegman, Shannon and Susan Haerr, and Sarah Haerr, all of Taylor, and the late Jeremy Haerr and the late Nikki Haerr. They have 14 grandchildren.
Mr. Haerr is retired from farming. He is a board member of the Missouri Rural Electric Cooperative and Northeast Power, president of the HIS Ranch Board of Directors, and is active with Berean Prison Ministry.
Mrs. Haerr, a homemaker, is a volunteer for the Blessing Hospital Tea Room, president of Blessing Volunteers in Partnership and a mentor for the HIS Ranch staff.
They are members of the Apostolic Christian Church.
The couple met at a church youth group event.
