Both drivers injured in accident Tuesday

EXCELLO, Mo. -- Drivers from Clarence and Armstrong were injured in a two-car accident at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 63, near Excello.

Charlotte A. Pflum, 83, of Clarence, and Stacy O. Jefferson, 32, of Armstrong were injured. Pflum was taken by private auto to the Moberly Clinic for treatment. Jefferson was treated at the scene. Plum was wearing seat belt, Jefferson was not, police said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a westbound 2011 Ford Focus driven by Jefferson failed to yield to a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Pflum. The Chevrolet struck the Ford on the passenger side. The Chevrolet came to rest on the right side of U.S. 63 and the Ford came to rest on Route T, police said.

Assisting was the Macon Rural Fire and Rescue.
