Laz and Cheryl Pavlovic

Laz and Cheryl Pavlovic of Hannibal, Mo., are observing their 40th wedding anniversary today. They plan to celebrate with a trip later this year.

The couple was married March 24, 1973.

Mrs. Pavlovic is a daughter of Christine Fry of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Mo., and the late Victor Fry, formerly of Texas City, Texas. Mr. Pavlovic is a son of the late Maria and Stojadin Pavlovic of Hannibal.

They are the parents of Relinda Pavlovic of Hannibal. They have three grandchildren.

Mr. Pavlovic retired from Quincy Compressor after 19 years of service. He enjoys coin collecting, geode collecting and gardening.

Mrs. Pavlovic graduated from licensed practical nurse school and was employed by Blessing Hospital for almost 27 years. She enjoys word search puzzles and genealogy.

They attend Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point and enjoy their grandchildren.

Tony Baker recently watched a video of the 1991 Class A state championship game with his 11-year-old daughter. It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
