Hannibal man injured in motorcycle versus SUV accident

Motorcyclist injured

in crash with SUV

A 64-year-old Hannibal man was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon after the motorcycle he was driving was hit by another vehicle.

The Hannibal Police Department reported that the man was traveling west on Church Street on a 2003 Moto Guzzi when he pulled onto Grand Avenue into the path of a southbound 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by a 45-year-old Hannibal woman. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

State Police to conduct

April road safety checks

Troopers with the Illinois State Police District 20 will conduct roadside safety checks in Adams County throughout April. Officers working the detail will be watchful for drivers who operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence.

The project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety.
