Kindergarten roundups Friday at Quincy elementary schools

Posted: Apr. 3, 2013 11:00 am Updated: Apr. 17, 2013 11:15 am

The Quincy School District will host a series of "kindergarten roundups" Friday at local grade schools for families with children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1.

Parents should attend the roundup with their child at the primary school in the attendance district in which they live. Anyone unsure of their grade school attendance district can call the Transportation Department at 224-5910.

The roundups give parents and children a chance to visit the school the youngster will attend next fall. They will meet staff members and get information about policies and requirements for physicals and immunizations.

Roundups will be held at the following times and locations -- all this Friday:

º Adams School (222-2530), 9 a.m.

º Berrian School (228-7691), 9:30 a.m.

º Dewey School (228-7117), 9:15 a.m.

º Ellington School (222-5697), 9:15 to 11 a.m.

º Madison School (223-6096), 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. (Meet in cafeteria).

º Monroe School (223-8871), 9:15 a.m.

º Washington School (222-4059), 9 a.m. (Breakfast served at 8:30 a.m.)

If parents of 5-year-old children have not yet made contact with a school, they should do so as soon as possible. Questions about the roundups can be directed to any of the schools listed.
