The United Way of the Mark Twain Area has announced a contest to select a theme for its 2013 campaign.

The organization hopes to build from last years' theme, "People Helping People … the United Way." Mike McFarlane, chairman of The United Way of the Mark Twain Area, has asked the public to submit new ideas by April 30.

Those interested may submit ideas to the organization through Facebook; email at teresa@uwmta.us; mail at 3062 Hwy 61 N., PO Box 81, Hannibal, MO 63401; or calling the United Way office at (573) 221-2761. Each entry must include a name and contact information.

The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate and be recognized as "theme chairman" this year.

The United Way of the Mark Twain Area serves Marion, Ralls, Monroe, Lewis, and Shelby counties.
