Gunnar Derhake, son of Jason and Debra Derhake, and Kyndle Icenogle, daughter of Jeff Icenogle and Jesse VanAlstine, were crowned the Little King and Queen of Dogwood during the contest Thursday night at the Quincy Mall.

This year's Dogwood Festival theme, "Celebrating the Champion in Us All," celebrates the national impact of Quincy-area natives in the past year.

Neighborhood block parties will be held Friday night, with the annual Dogwood Parade at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, starting at 24th and Maine and proceeding west to Sixth Street.

A carnival will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in Washington Park, and the Dogwood Bowl flag football tournament is set for 8 a.m. Sunday at Flinn Stadium.
