PERRY, Ill. -- Joey Polak's big day at the plate highlighted Quincy American Legion Post 37's doubleheader split with Jerseyville on Saturday in doubleheader baseball action.

Polak, from Quincy Notre Dame, went 2 for 3 with an RBI in his team's 6-5 Game 1 victory before going 2 for 2 with two walks, three runs scored, two home runs and seven RBIs in Post 37's 12-11 loss in Game 2.

In Game 1, Griggsville-Perry's Kaleb Bradshaw hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to put Post 37 ahead 6-3. That was key, because Jerseyville scored twice off of Bradshaw in the seventh before he escaped the jam to earn the win. He pitched four innings.

Dominic Miles went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Six errors led to Post 37's demise in Game 2. Jerseyville scored the winning run in the seventh. Alex Million, from Quincy High School, went 2 for 2 with an RBI for Post 37.
