Citizen's tip leads to arrest of Hannibal man on illegal dumping charge

NEW LONDON, Mo. -- A citizen's tip has led to the arrest of Hannibal man in connection withi a recent illegal dumping incident.

The Ralls County Sheriff's Department reported that the tip and subsequent investigation led to Sunday's arrest of Jimmy Dean Atteberry, 41, of Hannibal, on a charge of littering (illegal dumping), a Class A misdemeanor. Atteberry is scheduled to be in court Aug. 14. The incident occurred June 21 on Hydesburg Road near the Marion County line.

Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie urges people who have information regarding illegal dumping in Ralls County to call the Sheriff's Department at (573) 985-5611.
