EDINA, Mo. — An Edina teenager has died after an apparent accidental shooting.

Media reports say Logan Allen, 15, was accidentally shot in the back of the head Tuesday afternoon at an Edina home.

Allen and another boy were hanging out Tuesday afternoon at a home on West Jackson Street when Allen was accidentally shot.

Allen was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia. He was listed in critical condition overnight, and a hospital spokesman reported Wednesday morning that he had died.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating the incident.
Sgt. Erik Eidson said he had no details to release.

"The only thing I can tell you is we are conducting the investigation," Eidson said. "In circumstances like this, we can't release anything."

Word of the shooting had spread throughout the community.

"All I heard was a 15-year-old got shot in the head with a gun," said a person at an Edina business. "All I've heard is stuff from customers. I really don't know anything that's concrete on what happened."
