Head-on collision west of Center injures both drivers

CENTER, Mo. -- A head-on collision at 9:07 a.m. Sunday three miles west of Center injured both drivers.

Katie C. Lentz, 19, of Quincy, Ill., was taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, and was reported in serious condition early Monday morning. Aaron L. Smith, 26, of New London, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment. No report was available on Smith's condition.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Smith was traveling east on Mo. 19 when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on with the westbound 1989 Mercedes 300E driven by Lentz.
