Erin Flesner helped Central volleyball continue its hot start Thursday night. Flesner finished with 10 digs and 11 assists as the Lady Panthers beat Griggsville-Perry 25-14, 25-18 in Camp Point, Ill.
The Lady Panthers are now 3-0 this season. Maissie Musick led Central with eight kills, while Madison Steinkamp had 11 service points, including six aces.
QND d. Unity: The Lady Raiders won 25-13, 25-15 to beat Unity on the road. QND was led by Kendra Gengenbacher, who finished with 22 assists, and Riley Hummert, who added nine kills. Grace Horman finished with nine digs for the Lady Raiders (1-0).
Liberty d. Calhoun: After losing the first set, the Lady Eagles rattled off a pair of wins in straight sets to defeat Calhoun on the road. Liberty (1-0) lost the first set 16-25, but made the necessary adjustments to take the next two sets 25-21, 25-21. The Lady Eagles were led by Meredith Hyer, who finished with 30 assists, while Courtney Klingele added 12 kills. Brooklyn Murfin led the Lady Eagles on defense with five blocks.
Southeastern d. Pittsfield: The Lady Suns used a balanced attack to win their season opener 25-7, 25-8 at home.
Kolby McClelland led Southeastern with five kills, while Dakota Limkemann added four kills and seven service aces. Emma Derry handed out 14 assists and Ali Kerr had 10.
Western d. Jacksonville ISD: Evan Colston had eight kills in the Wildcats' season-opening 25-8, 25-15 victory at home.
Brooklyn Piele finished with 10 digs and Taylor Smith added eight assists.
Normal U-High Invitational: Two Quincy Notre Dame golfers placed among the top 10 individuals to lead their team to a third-place finish at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill.
Lucy Clark placed third with a 9-over par 81, while Katie Neiswender was sixth with an 84. The Lady Raiders shot a 392, trailing the U-High green team with a 332 and Lincoln (382).
QHS wins triangular: The QHS boys golf team shot a 149 to pick up the win in a triangular against Macomb and Pittsfield at Westview. The Blue Devils were led by Zach Burry and Zach Smith who each shot a 1-under 35 to take medalist honors. Pittsfield finished third, shooting a 190.
C-SC d. HLGU: After dropping the first set, the Lady Wildcats bounced back to win 23-25, 25-17, 25-18, 26-24 in a non-conference match at Charles Field House.
Kamrin Gold led C-SC (2-0) with 14 kills and 16 digs and Ruthie Wheelock added 11. Abbie Foster finished with 21 digs and India Green handed out 19 assists.
HLGU (0-1) was led by Lindsay Smith with 14 kills, Josie Corbett with 26 digs and Kelly Gould with 35 assists.
QND 7, Palmyra 2: The Lady Raiders dropped two singles matches, but swept the doubles at Palmyra, Mo.
Abby Moore, Chandler Beebe, Melanie Schlepphorst and Lucy Stella won at Nos. 2 through 4 singles, while Lydia Wilson and Olivia Hamilton earned singles victories for the Lady Panthers.
Winning doubles matches for QND were Olivia Tracy/Moore, Beebe/Schlepphorst and Stella/Samantha Tracy.
