When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Jim Repplinger Athletic Field, Hamilton, Ill.

Radio: ESPN 1440 AM, WTAD 930 AM

Records: Quincy Notre Dame -- 6-1 (4-0 West Central Conference). West Hancock -- 0-6 (0-4 WCC).

Coaches: West Hancock -- Travis Cook (0-6 at West Hancock, first season). QND -- Bill Connell (158-73 at QND, 22nd season).

Last meeting: This is the first meeting between the teams. West Hancock started in 2004 as a co-op between Hamilton and Warsaw high schools. QND last played Hamilton in 1997, with the Raiders winning 41-32.

Field dedication: Hamilton's field will be dedicated Friday to former Hamilton coach Jim Repplinger.

Repplinger coached Hamilton from 1971-1998, compiling a 170-104 record and guiding his teams to 12 playoff appearances. Hamilton twice reached the Class 2A semifinals under Repplinger, in 1976 and 1977.

Making improvements: West Hancock's season has been quite the struggle, but Connell said the Raiders aren't focusing on that.

"Our team is preparing hard this week. We've taken these guys seriously," he said. "We've concentrated this week a lot on ourselves, trying to make some improvements."

That said, Connell said QND probably won't try very many new wrinkles this week. Instead, they'll brush up what they've already established, which has been a healthy balance between a power-I ground attack and spread aerial assault.

"You've seen what you do, and a lot of that stuff we do we've been doing for more than 20 years," Connell said.

Scouting West Hancock: The Titans have been outscored 268-22 this season.

Sophomore fullback Josh Espinoza leads West Hancock with 308 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Titans have negative-four yards passing for the season, with sophomore Chase Dooley having completed three passes.
