Old St. Mary Catholic Church in Chicago was the setting for the Aug. 10 wedding of Miss Megan Schleppenbach and David Bates, both of Chicago.
The bride is a daughter of Barbara and John Schleppenbach of Quincy. The bridegroom is a son of Theresa and David Bates of Freehold, N.J.
The bride was given in marriage by her father during the 2:30 p.m. ceremony conducted by the Rev. Mike Kallock. Readers were Jay Schleppenbach, Linda Sims and Ashley Howard.
Matron of honor was Kerry Heckman. Bridesmaids were Frances Fonza, Cherie Garza, Anna Hartmann, Colleen Heffernan and Sarah Musick.
Best man was Kevin Bates, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Samuel Hamilton, Kyle O'Donnell, Christopher Pappas, Paul Tkacs and Alonzo Ward.
Usher was Jason Schwaede.
A reception began at 5:30 p.m. in the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza.
The newlyweds are at home in Chicago.
The bride is a researcher and curriculum developer at the University of Chicago.
The bridegroom is project director at DePaul University.
