Five arrested in Quincy drug bust

Five people were arrested Friday morning on Quincy's northwest side as the result of a two-month-long drug investigation conducted by the Adams County Sheriff's Department and Quincy Police Department.

At 8:45 a.m., officers with both departments conducted a simultaneous search warrant on 726 N. Fourth and 726 1/2 N. Fourth. According to a sheriff's department news release, methamphetamine and meth manufacturing materials were found inside the 726 1/2 N. Fourth address, while heroin packaged for delivery was found inside 726 N. Fourth.

Three Quincy residents and two Chicago residents were arrested.

Joseph Abbey, 34, of 726 1/2 N. Fourth, was arrested on charges of aggravated unlawful participation in meth production, delivery of cocaine, possession of meth and an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation warrant.

David Hedrick, 48, and Valerie Williams, 53, both of 726 N. Fourth, were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance (heroin).

John Kelly, 26, and Lamishaya Kelly, no age given, both of Chicago, were also at 726 N. Fourth. John Kelley was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft of motor vehicle parts charge. Lamishaya Kelly was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Abbey, Hedrick, Williams and Lamihsaya Kelly were lodged in the Adams County Jail without bond. John Kelly was lodged in the Adams County Jail on $5,000 bond.
