A Quincy man was ticketed for texting while driving and later jailed after a motor vehicle crash Saturday night in the 600 block of North 18th Street.

Personnel from the Quincy Police Department, Quincy Fire Department and Adams County EMS responded to a call at 8:15 p.m. and found Travis J. Neisen trapped inside a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle was turned on its side in a traffic lane. Neisen was uninjured.

Firefighters freed Neisen from the vehicle. An investigation revealed that the Tahoe was southbound on 18th when it struck an unoccupied parked vehicle. The Neisen vehicle then slid sideways and rolled onto its side, police said.

Police said Neisen also was arrested two hours later and charged with tampering with evidence. He was lodged in the Adams County Jail.
